rrrose is the MBS project for the development of solutions for the art and cultural heritage world. rrrose benefits from decades of experience of our team in the analysis and creation of multimedia archives for foundations and museums.
In recent decades, banking foundations have documented their art collections on digital archives and for these purposes ACRI has developed DBarte, used by more than a hundred foundations and whose archives are the basis of the R'accolte project, a website where some thousands of works are publicly available. rrrose wants to give continuity to these experiences by using and enhancing the existing archives.
Ten years ago, Blockchain technology emerged as a solution to the problems encountered in the traditional management of distributed archives, such as compliance with administration rules, data ownership and intangibility, and time stamps. These characteristics make it ideal for the long-term safeguarding of archives, guaranteeing their conservation. The flexibility of this solution allows easy integration of new catalogues. rrrose project finalises the creation of an archive shared between organisations, complete with tools for documenting the life of works of art.
This architecture allows the inclusion of different subjects, giving each one the necessary privileges to participate in the management. A conservation strategy that inherits the existing works of banking foundations and other organisations, and creates a shared archive that guarantees longevity and fruition to different operators and visitors.
The cataloguing allows to identify and describe the cultural assets with an artistic, historical or archaeological interest. The purpose of the cataloguing is the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage through knowledge of the assets and their context.
Centralised archives and catalogues feature:
The large amount of catalogues dedicated to cultural heritage poses a problem of fragmentation in the use, research, consultation and enhancement of the works contained.
The distributed nature of blockchain technology offers the ideal solution for integrating archives into a federated catalog where Foundations or Institutions, which share similar purposes, can use the same technological tools for cataloging and managing their own cultural assets.
Each institution hosting a blockchain node with an integral copy of the federated catalog thus contributes to the security, preservation, integrity and life of all the data contained.
The publication on the web of the federated catalog enhances the use, consultation, promotion of individual catalogs and related assets, becoming a pole of attraction, initiatives and cultural heritage for the whole community.
The authority of a federated catalog on blockchain also makes certified cataloging projects possible for third parties, such as public or private collections.
